Job summary

City of Laddonia is seeking a part-time City Treasurer to oversee all accounting operations, manage the budget process, and ensure accurate financial reporting for the municipality.

The role requires strong experience in municipal finance, proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel, and the ability to coordinate audits and compliance. A related degree and professional credentials are preferred, along with residency in Audrain County or surrounding area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in municipal finance or governmental accounting is preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Quickbooks and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Audrain County Resident.
• Capable of being bonded and successfully pass a background check.
• Possess a high school diploma/GED.
• Possess a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with City Council to develop, implement, and monitor the annual city budget.
• Reconcile bank statements, post general ledger entries, and prepare monthly/semi-annual financial reports.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and manage city investments.
