Job summary

The City of North Richland Hills is seeking an IT professional to maintain and administer its infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers. Responsibilities include patching, backups, disaster recovery, and security compliance, with occasional hardware replacements.

The role supports multiple departments and interacts with staff and citizens. Requires 3+ years in OS, networking, and virtualization, plus a relevant degree or equivalent experience; relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience with operating systems, networking, server virtualization, backup technologies, or related fields.
• MCSA, Linux+ or RHSA preferred.
• Must be able to pass a standard background check and FBI CJIS background check and drug screen.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer the City's infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
• Perform patching, backups, restore operations, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure systems security compliance and replace hardware components as needed.
• Provide support to other departments and interact with City employees and citizens.
• No supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical instruction on topics.
• On-call and meeting coverage on a rotating basis.
