The City Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and

supervising the daily operations of the City's Public Works Department. This includes

oversight of streets, parks, sanitation, stormwater systems, public facilities, and other

municipal intrastructure. The Superintendent provides leadership to Public Works

employees, oversees City projects, manages departmental budgets, and works closely

with elected officials, engineers, contractors, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all Public Works operations and personnel.

• Order equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Public Works employees.

• Attend City Council and committee meetings as requested.
• Respond to citizen concerns and provide professional customer service.
• Maintain records, reports, and departmental documentation.
• Participate in emergency response operations and be available for after-hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor Degree preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in public works, construction, utilities, or municipal operations.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
