Job summary

The City of South Fulton invites applications for a full-time Planner based in City Hall, South Fulton, GA. The position handles current planning, site plan review, and coordination with other departments, supporting the Comprehensive Plan and Capital Improvement Program.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 1 year of planning/zoning/permitting experience are required. Occasional city travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, architecture, planning, engineering, or a related field.
• 1 year of planning/zoning or permitting experience.
• Must meet background and legal work requirements.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote policies and procedures of the City of South Fulton.
• Inform and advise the Department Director on department issues affecting the city.
• Coordinate meetings with other departments and assist with city planning meetings.
• Review and approve plats, site plans, and zoning considerations.
• Prepare agenda items for zoning, annexation, and variances.
• Travel within the city for operations and training.
