The City of Ada is seeking a Director of Community Development to lead planning, zoning, building inspection, and housing programs. This full-time role directs staff, coordinates development activities, and ensures compliance with local codes.

The position also represents the city in land-use negotiations and partner coordination, while guiding regulatory compliance. A bachelor’s in urban planning plus government experience is expected, with supervisory background preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning or related field.
• Five years of governmental planning experience.
• At least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and participate in the city's planning, zoning, housing and development activities.
• Represent the city in negotiations related to land use and development.
• Supervise staff and coordinate with other departments.
