Job summary

City of Mableton seeks a professional Planner to join the Community Development team. You will analyze GIS data, prepare reports, and review zoning and land development applications to support current and future growth.

Responsibilities include coordinating with boards, staff, and the public, producing staff reports with recommendations, and ensuring compliance with zoning codes while guiding applicants through the process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field; 1 year planning experience.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and regulatory or compliance activities.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, GIS, and related software; valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Uses GIS to analyze and extrapolate information.
• Creates maps, analyzes data, and compiles reports.
• Provides staff support to City departments and boards; prepares staff reports with recommendations.
• Interprets zoning codes and planning-related ordinances.
• Coordinates with development community and guides applicants through zoning processes.
• Reviews development plans and building permits related to zoning matters.
