Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field (Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, Government, or related).
• No prior legislative experience required; internship/experience in government or public policy is a plus.
• Ability to learn state and federal legislative processes and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Track proposed state and federal legislation that may affect the City.
• Maintain and update a database of legislation monitored by the City.
• Review bills, amendments, and notices; provide summaries of discussions and actions.
• Watch or attend legislative committee hearings and summarize important discussions.
• Prepare briefings, reports, and updates for City staff and leadership.
• Identify legislation that may impact City operations, finances, or policy.
