The City of Prattville is seeking a part-time security officer to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and the building. Duties include screen­ing visitors, monitoring entry points, and maintaining a secure environment.

The role requires POSTC certification and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities also include attending meetings, assisting department staff as needed, and periodic firearm recertification.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, or a security-related field.
• POSTC Certification as a Police Officer (current or prior).
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Willingness to work flexible part-time hours and attend required training.

Responsabilités

• Screens and/or inspects visitors and bags for prohibited items.
• Monitors entryways and exits.
• Maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors.
• Directs visitors to proper officers.
• Inspect entryways and exits for hazards and potential risks.
• Responds to internal alarm notifications.
• Attend meetings.
• Assists departmental personnel as needed.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
• Must qualify/recertify yearly with a department-issued firearm.
