Job summary

The City of New York invites applications for a Policy Analyst within the Office of the Chief of Staff to the Mayor. You will support the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Policy and Planning team in aligning policy, budgeting, and long‑term planning across City Hall.

This role involves developing briefs for executive decision‑making, tracking initiatives, providing project management support across agencies, and coordinating internal operations to advance mayoral priorities and cross‑city

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in City government, urban planning, policy, or operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine briefings and memos for Executive decision‑making & high‑level policymaking by gathering relevant information and data from senior City Hall staff and agency leadership.
• Assist in the development, tracking, and advancement of processes to facilitate Executive decision‑making.
• Provide project management support on inter‑agency policy topics.
• Assist with coordination of internal operations & cross‑issue workflows within the Office of the Chief of Staff.
• Support the public‑facing rollout and announcement of key Mayoral policy priorities.
• Assist with coordination between the Office of the Chief of Staff and Intergovernmental Affairs, City Legislative Affairs, State Legislative Affairs, and Federal Legislative Affairs to develop legislative solutions to policy challenges.
• Support inter‑agency coordination and cross‑City Hall team collaboration to ensure project and program delivery.
