Job summary

City and County of San Francisco seeks a City Hall Building Manager in the Real Estate Division to lead the full-service management of City Hall, ensuring safety, accessibility, and high standards of operation in a historic public building.

The role requires strong political awareness, advanced communication, exceptional customer service, and proven project, budget, and people management skills, with collaboration across City departments and external partners.

Qualifications

• Possession of a baccalaureate degree.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in property management or related fields.
• Experience developing and administering facility use policies and coordinating operations for multi-use public or high-profile properties.
• Substitution: one (1) year of experience equals thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building operations, maintenance, repairs, capital improvements, policies, and staff supervision.
• Serve as liaison between Real Estate Division, tenant departments, elected officials, and executive leadership.
• Coordinate safety, security, and emergency preparedness for City Hall.
• Develop long-range plans, budgets, and capital improvement funding needs.
• Lead onboarding of tenants and communication of policies and procedures.
• Manage vendor and contract performance to ensure quality and compliance.
