Job summary

The City of Geneva is seeking a rising GIS Technician to support the GIS Division in Public Works. Under the GIS Coordinator, you will maintain GIS databases, create maps, and support multiple city departments with spatial data and tools.

Key duties include data collection via surveys and UAS, drafting with CAD, and building workflows to improve efficiency. A Bachelor's degree with GIS experience and ArcGIS knowledge are required; FAA Part 107 is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geology, Environmental Science or related field.
2–3 years of progressively responsible GIS data management experience.
Solid mapping and cartographic principles, spatial transformations, scale, and database management.
Working knowledge of ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

Collect, update and maintain city GIS data and databases.
Create and modify maps using GIS data and systems.
Prepare drawings and imagery using CAD, web apps, dashboards and surveys.
Assist GIS Coordinator in deploying GIS solutions for city departments and residents.
Collect data via surveying and UAS flights.
Develop scripts and ArcGIS tasks to streamline workflows.
