The City of Conroe is seeking a City Engineer responsible for planning, organizing, and directing engineering work. This role requires overseeing design projects and supervising division staff. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and five years of civil engineering experience, with a Professional Engineer license in Texas.

The City Engineer is a responsible professional and administrative position with duties including, but not limited to, planning, organizing, directing and participating in the work of Engineering including survey, design, drafting and construction inspection. Work includes administrative and technical responsibility for all in‑house and consultant design projects and studies. Through subordinates, supervision is exercised over all employees of this division. Work is performed with considerable independence within the framework of established procedures, City of Conroe and departmental policies.
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of civil engineering experience, some of which are with a municipality; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas; certified as Floodplain Manager. Certification as a Professional Land Surveyor preferred. Familiarity with various types of engineering software preferred. Possession of a valid Class "C" Texas driver's license or higher.
The work is light work and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: hearing, mental acuity, speaking, repetitive motions, standing, talking, visual acuity and walking.
