Erie Neighborhood House seeks a Spanish Instructor for its adult education program in the Chicago area. The position covers Spanish I and/or Spanish II, four hours per week, with one hour for preparation.

You will design engaging, standards-based lessons, foster authentic communication, integrate culture, and collaborate with the adult education team to deliver an integrated learning experience. Start date January 4, 2027.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• Master’s degree in Spanish language, literature, or education preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience with language students preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse adult learners and collaborate with teams.
• Bilingual Spanish/English and curriculum development knowledge.
• Ability to read, interpret student scores and set objectives.

Responsabilidades

• Teach Spanish I and/or Spanish II sections as assigned.
• Design standards-based lessons promoting language acquisition and culture.
• Create immersive learning environments for active use of Spanish.
• Integrate cultures, literature and current events into instruction.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners and styles.
• Use educational technology to enhance engagement and achievement.
• Assess progress with formative and summative measures and provide feedback.
• Develop, maintain curricula and resources with clear objectives.
• Engage students and encourage participation with tech integration.
• Keep attendance records and identify students needing extra support.
