Job summary

Citiguard is seeking a highly competent vehicle patrol security officer to monitor the premises and protect staff, visitors, and inventory across multiple locations in the Los Angeles area. Prior experience as vehicle patrol and CPR/First Aid is a plus; bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred.

This role emphasizes reporting, observing suspicious activity, enforcing access control, and maintaining safety with PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol properties on foot and in a company vehicle to secure personnel and assets.

  • Control access points and manage entry during start/end of business hours.
  • Complete daily reports and maintain daily logs.
  • Ensure PPE and equipment are used correctly.
  • Maintain professional appearance and work with or without supervision.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly competent vehicle patrol security officer to join our team to monitor the premises and protect the valued staff, visitors, tenants, and inventory for a multiple locations in the Los Angeles area. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience as a vehicle patrol security officer, as well as first aid and CPR training. He or she will have a sharp eye with quick reaction time in the detection of any suspicious or criminal behavior, and prevention of theft or vandalism.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is responsible for ensuring a safe environment and ensuring all employees are using the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and all tools and equipment are being used correctly.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
  • Patrol properties on foot and in a company provided vehicle, securing personnel, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter are secure in all weather conditions
  • Investigate and take the appropriate lawfully action as authorized by the corporate policy on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activities, safety and fire incidents
  • Control and monitor surveillance equipment, and perform building and equipment inspections
  • Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry, restraining trespassers, and direct heavy traffic during start and end of business hours
  • Complete daily reports, including relevant information, observations, surveillance footage, and signatures
  • Secure all doors, windows, and exits, depending on assignment
  • Knows and can assume the duties of all other non-supervisory security positions.
  • Knows and enforces all of the assigned rules/policies
  • Have complete knowledge of the assigned accounts and amenities.
  • Assist in the collection and reporting of statistical information and data.
  • Ensures compliance of entry requirements as needed.
  • Responds to non-emergency calls for service, and, within the limits of his/her knowledge, experience, the law, and policies, attempts to prevent or reduce injury or loss of property to the assigned site, its members and/or guests until relieved by responsible public agencies.
  • Monitors and responds to fire and/or rescue calls to assist as needed and able.
  • Documents activities, collisions, crimes, policy violations, and other events as required, in the company electronic reporting software.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with local public enforcement and other agencies.
  • Within the limits of the job objectives, assist public agencies when requested.
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work with and/or without supervision
  • Inspects all assigned site's buildings, roadways, and other property for damage, intrusion, security violations, and/or hazards reporting the results on required forms.
  • Be familiar with all facilities and amenities of the assigned account.
  • Courteous and professional at all times.
  • Maintain the security patrol vehicle by cleaning the interior and exterior as needed.
  • Maintains poise and is objective when faced with occasional verbally abusive persons.
  • Regularly patrols the exterior and interior of all assigned accounts.
  • Maintain electronic daily reporting logs.
  • Thoroughly inspects specific areas of interests at each account and reports any issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all company security protocols and procedures.
  • Any other duties as may be required by leadership.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Although you will be working under the indirect supervision of an Operations Manager for your assigned shift, we will rely upon you for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers, tenants, visitors, and other people and property on the premises.
