Job Description

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot
• Watch for irregular or suspicious conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Must be mentally alert, capable of exercising good judgment, and implementing instructions

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (At least one of the following)

• One year of full‑time paid experience as a Security guard, Security officer, Security aide, law enforcement officer, correctional officer, traffic officer, park ranger, firefighter, or Police student worker (with the City of Los Angeles), or Military experience equivalent (MP, Patrol, or Infantry)
• CA Guard Card

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Occasionally bend/twist at waist, knees, and neck to perform various duties
• Stand, walk, and sit with minimal or no stooping or kneeling (running when necessary)
• Must possess good vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish basic colors
• Good hearing (hearing aids may be used only with the approval of an examining physician)

Additional Information

ADDITIONAL:

• Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the State
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
• Must possess a valid Guard License, or have applied and subsequently been issued such a license prior to employment
• Must have a California Driver's License and an issued vehicle or reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Must be able to pass a background check
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is highly desired
• Some positions may require a valid California Driver's License
