Job summary

Kleinfelder, a trusted engineering and professional services firm, is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead enterprise cybersecurity strategy, governance, and risk management. The role partners with executive leadership to protect clients, data, and operations while enabling growth and digital transformation.

The CISO will drive secure-by-design and DevSecOps practices, manage budgets, and oversee federal compliance for CUI/FCI, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC, guiding security

Qualifications

• 12+ years in cybersecurity/tech risk with leadership responsibility.
• 5+ years leading managers or enterprise security programs.
• Advising executive leadership or Board on material cyber risk and programs.
• Experience guiding DevSecOps and secure SDLC across CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with federal contracting cybersecurity requirements (CUI/FCI, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC).
• Budgets, vendors, and multi-year transformation experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain a multi-year cybersecurity strategy, governance, and budget.
• Lead governance, reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
• Define accountability, policies, and risk acceptance processes.
• Build and retain a high-performing security organization.
• Coordinate incident response, risk reporting, and security programs.
