Job summary

Allied Consultants, Inc is seeking an experienced Cisco Network Engineer to play a key role in a high-impact technical services team. The role is based in the Huntsville, TX area with hybrid work options and requires strong expertise in Cisco networking, security, and WAN/LAN design.

The candidate should have extensive experience supporting large enterprise networks, performing maintenance and problem resolution, and guiding the deployment of Cisco network equipment.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience supporting large enterprise network operations.
• Experience implementing, upgrading and maintaining Cisco products.
• Planning, designing and implementing local and wide area networks.
• Monitoring network infrastructure.
• Performing ongoing maintenance and problem resolution.
• Use of SecureCRT, Cisco Command Line Interface, and OSI.
• Ability to take on projects and work independently meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the agency's network operation, security, maintenance.
• Collaborate with other agency departments and external organizations for secure network solutions.
• Respond to remote site circuit outages and router/switch/firewall issues.
• Configure and monitor core to remote network equipment.
• Monitor circuits daily to detect anomalies that may cause outages.

Allied Consultants, Inc is a proudly Austin based firm with over 34 years of experience delivering top-tier technical and business professionals within Texas State Agencies. We are currently seeking an experience Cisco Network Engineer to play a key role within a high-impact technical services team.

Work Location:

Hybrid. Candidates must be local to Huntsville, TX**

Responsibilities

The network engineer is responsible for supporting the agency's network operation, security, maintenance and collaboration with other agency departments and external organizations to provide a secure and effective network solution. This would include responding to remote site circuit outages, router/switch/firewall issues, configuring and monitoring core to remote network equipment and similar tasks. The network engineer also monitors the circuits daily to check for anomalies that may cause outages. This role also assists in providing any network support for all programs used in all client.

Qualifications

8 years of:

• Experience supporting large enterprise network operations
• Experience implementing, upgrading and maintaining products from the CISCO suite of tools
• Planning, designing and implementing local and wide area networks
• Monitoring network infrastructure
• Performing ongoing maintenance and problem resolution
• Use of SecureCRT, Cisco Command Line Interface, and OSI
• Ability to take on projects and work independently meeting all deadlines

Preferred

• CCNA, CCDA, CCNP
