Job summary

Broward College's University & College Library Staff invites applications for a Senior Library Assistant, Circulation & Innovation at the Central Campus. This full-time role supports library circulation and Innovation Hub operations, guiding students and staff in accessing resources, checking materials in/out, and assisting with makerspace technologies.

The position requires an Associate's degree and at least three years in library circulation or customer service, plus knowledge of library

Qualifications

Associate's degree required; degrees in Library Science or related fields preferred.
Minimum 3 years of library circulation or customer service experience.
Experience with library management systems and makerspaces desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide circulation services at the desk, sign-in, check in/out materials, process reserves, fines, and room check-ins.
Maintain library collections through shelving, shelf-reading, locating missing materials, inventory, and processing damaged items.
Train and support part-time staff, process overdue and lost notices, maintain circulation statistics, and assist with interlibrary loan when needed.
Maintain a safe and welcoming environment, coordinate with Campus Safety when necessary, and assist during emergencies.
Support Innovation Hub operations by assisting makerspace users and offering basic instruction on equipment such as 3D printers and multimedia tools; manage supplies and troubleshoot.
Assist with workshops and student innovation projects.
