Job summary

Algonquin Area Public Library District in McHenry County seeks an energetic front line teammate to staff the Customer Service Desk. You will greet patrons, assist with citizen services, and help with passport applications, voter registration, and license plate renewals.

Responsibilities include checking in/out materials, issuing library cards, resolving account issues, handling materials, and supporting a welcoming, accurate service experience across library sites.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience or aptitude.
• Comfort with computers and office equipment.
• Ability to perform light to moderate physical tasks.
• Willingness to travel between library sites.
• Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons and staff at the Customer Service Desk.
• Issue library cards and assist with materials checkout/in.
• Resolve patron account issues and provide citizen services.
• Assist with passport applications, voter registration, and license plate renewals.
• Support materials handling tasks and general library operations.
