Job summary

Buck Mason is seeking a Knitting Mill Operations Manager to lead knitting mill operations, connecting production with product vision and needs of the HQ team.

You will oversee production planning, team leadership, quality, purchasing, equipment maintenance, and daily operations in a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical knowledge of circular knitting and textile production.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of experience in textile manufacturing, knitting, or mill operations.
  • Proven experience leading a knitting or textile production team.
  • Strong technical knowledge with circular knitting.
  • Experience with dyeing and finishing processes.
  • Understanding of yarns, fibers, fabric construction, gauges, weights, and fabric performance.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and capacity planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily knitting mill operations, ensuring production runs efficiently and according to plan.
  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet deadlines and upcoming needs.
  • Lead and develop the knitting team with clear expectations on productivity and quality.
  • Oversee circular knitting operations, machine capabilities, troubleshooting, and processes.
  • Manage yarn purchasing, availability, and inventory levels to support production.
  • Coordinate dyeing and finishing to meet Buck Mason standards.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Design, Production, Merchandising, and Ops to plan needs.
  • Translate future production requirements into mill capacity, materials, staffing, and scheduling plans.
  • Monitor progress and address delays, quality issues, and capacity constraints while maintaining QC across stages.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and upkeep of knitting equipment and mill facilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, capacity, quality, and overall mill performance.
