Job summary

FiberLight, LLC is seeking an Circuit Designer I to translate customer requirements into scalable fiber circuit designs and provisioning plans. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and customer delivery to support rapid network expansions.

The candidate will work onsite in Allen, TX, collaborate with project managers and field teams, and ensure designs meet engineering standards while maintaining accurate documentation and BOMs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in circuit design or related telecom roles.
• Familiarity with fiber optic networks and Layer 1/2 technologies.
• Experience creating/interpreting network diagrams, route maps, and BOMs.
• Experience with inventory/mapping/monitoring platforms.
• Strong analytical skills and data accuracy across systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Review customer orders and translate requirements into circuit designs.
• Analyze maps, records, and inventories to determine optimal routing.
• Provision resources (ports, optics, VLANs, IPs, transport paths).
• Maintain circuit and equipment records in inventory systems.
• Create design diagrams, documentation, and BOMs for deployments.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, provisioning, and field teams.
• Identify risks and design challenges before deployment.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and keep designs updated.
