Job summary

FiberLight LLC in Allen, TX is seeking a Circuit Designer I to translate telecom requirements into reliable network designs, document them, and provision circuits that power customer services across a growing fiber network.

You will collaborate across engineering, operations, and delivery teams, review orders, create BOMs, and ensure accuracy and compliance while advancing critical infrastructure and installations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in circuit design or related telecom role.
• Working knowledge of fiber, Ethernet, Layer 1/2, VLANs, optics, IP addressing.
• Experience creating network diagrams, route maps, equipment records, BOMs.
• Familiarity with vendors such as Juniper, Cisco, SmartOptics, Nokia, Ciena, Fujitsu.
• Experience using network inventory/mapping platforms (3-GIS, NetBrain, SolarWinds, IPAM).
• Strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certifications preferred.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Allen, TX.

Responsibilities

• Review customer orders and translate requirements into network designs.
• Analyze maps, infrastructure records, and inventories to determine circuit routing.
• Provision resources: ports, optics, VLANs, IP addresses, transport paths.
• Create and maintain circuit, route, and equipment records.
• Develop network design diagrams, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Ensure data accuracy across network records and systems.
• Identify capacity constraints and risks before deployment.
• Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, provisioning teams, field technicians, and activation teams.
• Troubleshoot design discrepancies and provide updates as projects evolve.
• Maintain compliance with engineering standards and processes.
