Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Circuit Design Engineer to contribute to the library and process monitor for advanced processor designs in Santa Clara, CA. You will help shape standard cell libraries and PPA, working with a team of engineers across design and verification to bring cutting‑edge processor IP to market.

The role emphasizes transistor‑level design, parasitic reduction, and tight collaboration with CPU, SOC, and GPU teams to meet performance and power targets in deep submicron technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree + minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Experience in circuit design of high‑performance flip flops, level shifters, retention flops and other complex circuits is a plus.
• Experience with RTL2GDSII flow and/or STA is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on library architecture discussions and optimization to improve Library PPA.
• Drive layout optimization to reduce parasitics and improve circuit PPA.
• Develop Library PPA for different technology, architecture, and PDK releases.
• Develop standard cell circuits to push design PPA.
• Work on PNR block to design process monitor IP and validate IPs in testchips.
• Collaborate with CPU, SOC and GPU teams on physical design requirements.

In this highly visible role, you will be at the heart of a processor design effort, working with the custom digital circuits team and library development, making a critical impact in delivering products to market quickly.

Description

Imagine yourself at the center of our cutting-edge processor design in deep submicron technologies, and on standard cell library designs. You will drive concepts of transistor level circuit design, modeling and performance analysis, collaborating with all fields, playing a strategic role of getting functional products to millions of customers quickly. You will have the opportunity to integrate and come up with new ideas, as well as work with a team of hardworking engineers.

• Work on library architecture discussion & optimization effort to improve overall Library PPA.
• Drive layout optimization effort by identifying & reducing parasitics to push circuit PPA.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
