Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or technical education.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing electronic circuits and PCBs at the component level.
  • Ability to read schematics, drawings, and technical docs.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, function generators).
  • Strong soldering/desoldering for SMT and TH components.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analysis, and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and isolate faults on PCBs using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair including ICs, resistors, capacitors, and transistors.
  • Use advanced SMT and through-hole soldering/desoldering techniques.
  • Carry out circuit card rework and modifications per engineering specs and QA requirements.
  • Conduct functional testing of repaired circuit cards to verify operation and performance.
  • Operate test fixtures and automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Maintain thorough documentation of troubleshooting, repairs, and test results.
  • Identify recurring failures and report trends to support corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve issues and improve reliability.
  • Follow safety procedures, ESD handling, and quality standards.

Description

Innovative Aerosystems is seeking a Circuit Card Troubleshoot and Repair Technician to diagnose, repair, and test electronic circuit cards and assemblies. This position requires strong technical knowledge, analytical problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will work with schematics, technical documentation, and electronic test equipment to identify faults, perform component-level repairs, and verify that repaired products meet all quality and performance standards.

This role involves troubleshooting analog and digital circuits, soldering and rework activities, documentation of repair actions, and collaboration with Engineering and Quality teams to support continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and isolate faults on printed circuit boards (PCBs) using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair, including replacement of integrated circuits (ICs), resistors, capacitors, transistors, and other electronic components.
  • Utilize advanced soldering and desoldering techniques for both surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components.
  • Perform circuit card rework and modifications in accordance with engineering specifications and quality requirements.
  • Conduct functional testing of repaired circuit cards to verify proper operation and performance.
  • Operate test fixtures and automated test equipment (ATE) as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting, repairs, component replacements, and test results.
  • Identify and report recurring failures or trends to support corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve product reliability.
  • Follow all safety procedures, ESD handling requirements, and company quality standards.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology, technical school certification, equivalent military training, or related technical education.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits and printed circuit boards at the component level.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and electronic documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, and related equipment.
  • Strong soldering and desoldering skills for both SMT and through-hole components.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the aerospace, avionics, or defense industry.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification.
  • Experience working with automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
