Job summary

Valid8 Financial, Inc. is seeking a Circuit Board Assembler/Tester to precisely assemble PCBs and electronic components and to perform functional and quality testing to ensure products meet company and industry standards.

You will read schematics, place and solder components, operate hand tools and SMT equipment, and document test results while following IPC and ESD safety procedures. This role requires a High school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in electronics manufacturing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble PCBs and components using hand soldering, wave soldering, and/or SMT.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work orders.
• Place and solder resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, and other parts.
• Operate hand tools, pick-and-place machines, and soldering equipment.
• Follow IPC standards and ESD safety procedures.
• Testing and quality control: ICT and functional testing, visual inspections.
• Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and ICT fixtures for testing.
• Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects or failures; rework and repair boards.
• Maintain accurate production and test records; keep workstation clean and safe.
• Meet daily production targets; collaborate with engineering and quality teams.

Job description

The Circuit Board Assembler/Tester is responsible for the precise assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components, as well as performing functional and quality testing to ensure all products meet company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble PCBs and electronic components using hand soldering, wave soldering, and/or SMT (surface mount technology) techniques
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work orders
• Place and solder components including resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, and other parts
• Operate hand tools, pick-and-place machines, and soldering equipment
• Follow IPC standards and ESD (electrostatic discharge) safety procedures
• Testing and Quality Control
  • Perform in-circuit testing (ICT), functional testing, and visual inspections
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and automated test fixtures
  • Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects or failures
  • Rework and repair boards that fail inspection or testing
  • Maintain accurate production and test records

Qualifications

• Required

  • Proficiency in hand soldering (through-hole and/or SMT)
  • Ability to read schematics and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with ESD safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to stand/sit for extended periods and use magnification equipment
• Preferred
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) or ICT fixtures
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
  • Experience with rework and repair of surface mount components
