General Description: The primary responsibility of the Circle Preschool Program Therapeutic Classroom Aide/Teaching Assistant is to support the CPP Lead Teacher, Program Director, and Clinical Services Coordinator in service delivery within the classroom. They will facilitate educational and therapeutic components of classroom intervention.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a team of clinical social workers, early childhood and special educators, a speech pathologist, and an occupational therapist. The team works with children aged 3-6 years to develop social, emotional, regulation, relational, early literacy, math, and early executive function skills. This facilitation occurs in a therapeutic setting for children experiencing chronic stressors, high adverse childhood experiences, and trauma. The goal is to support each child's capacity to regulate and relate to others, fostering interactions, resiliency, and skill development.

Minimum of a High School diploma; an associate’s degree or higher is preferred. Experience working with preschool children (ages 3-5) is required. Willingness and openness to learn therapeutic skills for behaviorally challenged preschoolers and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including SCAN staff, VCU interns, and YWCA Sprout School staff.
