Job summary

PET Dairy, a DFA brand, has an immediate opening for an equipment cleaner responsible for clean-in-place (CIP) operations and sanitation to meet regulatory standards. The role supports product quality and facility hygiene at the Spartanburg site.

The shift is 3rd, 10pm–finish with rotating days and potential weekends. Competitive pay plus benefits provided by DFA; join a family-owned dairy community.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks.
  • Must be able to push, pull, stand, walk, climb, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble equipment for cleaning per manufacturer instructions.
  • Operate CIP system to clean and sanitize equipment, tanks, and pipelines.
  • Complete basic preventive maintenance of gaskets, seals, O-rings, and plates.
  • Maintain records of cleaning cycle times, concentrations, flow rates, and temperatures.
  • Keep plant and equipment clean: floors, walls, ceilings, vents, lights.
  • Check product contact surfaces before starting up.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to management.
  • Follow GMP and regulatory requirements.

PET Dairy has an immediate job opening for well-versed equipment cleaner. The CIP operator is responsible for ensuring proper cleanup and sanitation tasks to follow the regulatory standards for an optimum quality product ensuring that the product and process are both clean and sterile.

PAY RATE

$21.50 per hour

SCHEDULE

3rd Shift / 10pm - Finish / Rotating Days / Possible Saturdays and Sundays

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment for proper cleaning/sanitizing per manufacturer instructions
  • Operate the CIP (clean-in-place) system to clean and sanitize equipment, tanks, and pipelines
  • Complete basic preventive maintenance of gaskets, seals, "O" rings, plates, etc., on all product contact surfaces as needed by the Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Complete record keeping items such as, but not limited to, identifying cleaning cycle times on charts, measuring cleaning concentration, examining flow rates, assessing heat up temperature, and sanitizing by chemical strengths
  • Perform the basic housekeeping to include clean floors, walls, ceiling, air vents, lights, etc., of the plant, equipment, and exterior of all equipment
  • Accomplish pre-operations check on all product contact surfaces including pumps, valves, agitators, alcoves, and clamps before starting up
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
  • Collect required samples needed for quality assurance testing
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
  • Must be able to push, pull, stand, walk, climb, crouch and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to be able to work in a wet environment
  • May have some exposure to dust, fumes and cleaning chemicals
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime as required, occasional weekends and holidays
