Job summary

The City of Lincoln and Lancaster County seek a forward-looking Chief Information Officer to lead a major technology transformation. The CIO will guide IT operations for both City and County, reporting to the Mayor's Office, with responsibility for cybersecurity, modernization, governance, and enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading technology strategy in a complex multi-stakeholder organization.
• Executive-level experience with cybersecurity, risk management, and business continuity.
• Ability to communicate complex technology and risk issues to nontechnical audiences.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college/university in IT/CS/Business/Public Administration or related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish and communicate an enterprise technology strategy aligned with City and County priorities.
• Ensure security, resilience, continuity, and responsible stewardship of assets.
• Build trusted relationships with officials, leaders, departments, agencies, and community partners.
• Oversee modernization initiatives, architecture, service delivery, and governance to meet KPI targets.
