Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Media Production Specialist to operate as camera operator across brand films, documentary content, product photography, events and social content. The role is hands-on, working solo or with crews, and based in person at our Long Beach studio.

It begins as a 3-month fixed-term contract with the possibility to extend and includes a full suite of benefits. The candidate brings 4+ years as cinematographer/DoP, experience with ARRI/RED/Sony, strong lighting design

Qualifications

• 4+ years as cinematographer, camera operator, or DoP in commercial, documentary, corporate, or brand content.
• Expert with professional camera systems (ARRI, RED, Sony FX/Venice, Blackmagic) and exposure/color theory.
• Hands-on lighting design for studio and on-location shoots with varying budgets.
• Able to operate solo or in small/large crews without quality loss.
• Strong eye for composition and storytelling, supported by a diverse portfolio.
• Comfortable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Cinematography across brand films, documentaries, interviews, hardware showcases and live events.
• Design and execute lighting setups; act as gaffer or DoP on larger sets.
• Contribute to pre-production including shot lists, lighting diagrams, storyboards and scouting.
• Perform solo operation for run-and-gun shoots managing camera, audio and lighting.
• Capture product, hardware, portrait, and event photography.
• Maintain and organize camera and lighting equipment for readiness.
