Bechtel in the United States is seeking a field engineer to support LNG plant projects along the Gulf Coast. The role includes field engineering, work planning, material management, and system turnover coordination to ensure safe, efficient execution on site.

The candidate will collaborate with craft teams, uphold safety and quality standards, and may be Mobil ity to other units as needs arise. A bachelor's degree and 2–5 years of relevant experience are required, with willingness to travel

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant field engineering experience (or 6–9 years).
  • Knowledge of ES&H guidelines and zero-accidents safety culture.

Project Overview:

The selected candidate will initially be placed on one of our four Liquefied Natural Gas Plant Projects in the US Gulf Coast Region for our Energy Global Business Unit, but we may also require the selected candidate to have future mobility to one of our other Global Business Units in a different location. The ideal candidate will have market sector/ sub sector construction industry experience in energy (liquefied natural gas), manufacturing and technology (semiconductor, chemical, pharmaceutical, data centers, fire power generation), infrastructure (aviation, rail, roads/bridges), mining and minerals (water treatment plant, mineral extraction, metal refining), & nuclear, security, and environmental (nuclear power epc, power distribution, combined cycle, defense and space, environmental cleanup). As needs arise in our growing business, there will be expectation for the candidate to be fully mobile.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:
Work Planning & Packaging
  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches. Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
Material Management
  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
Quantities
  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
  • Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
System Turnover CoordinatorFor Direct Hire:
  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
STR / Subcontract Coordinator
  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to a single discipline interfacing with all areas, or in a multi-discipline position assigned to a single area. Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration. Familiar with the company's Business Ethics handbook and policies. Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the the company Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility. Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. Knowledge of the company's "Zero Accidents" safety program. Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents. Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.
Additional Information:
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as required that may include but not limited to nightshift, or split shift Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
