Job summary

American Fuji Seal in Newton, NC, is seeking a Printing Press Operator for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 4 PM–12 AM). You will assist in operating printing equipment, print labels to meet quality standards, and maintain equipment in good operating condition.

You will troubleshoot daily issues, focus on rolls on and rolls off, and uphold safety, quality, and productivity. Essential duties include daily safety checks, safe press operation, following the press schedule, and using auxiliary tools for process

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated insight into mechanical and process analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written matters.
  • Willingness to work overtime and any schedule deemed necessary to maintain production.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the printing press safely and in accordance with safety rules.
  • Analyze and follow the press schedule to complete work orders.
  • Utilize auxiliary tools at the press for process control and traceability.
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product and take corrective actions.
  • Support process, equipment, and material improvements to increase productivity.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Communicate troubleshooting experiences and results to the team.
  • Perform daily safety inspections and address issues.

Shift & Work Schedule

2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 4 PM - 12 AM

General Responsibilities

Assist in operating the printing equipment and related auxiliary tools. Print labels that match or exceed the quality expected by the customer. Must maintain and oversee equipment to ensure that they are well maintained and in good operating conditions. This position will be heavily involved in troubleshooting day-to-day issues related to printing. Primary focus is rolls on and rolls off, but not limited to this.

Essential Job Functions
  • Conduct daily safety inspection of work area and address noted issues
  • Operate the press in a safe manner following safety and PPO rules.
  • Analyze and follow the press schedule, must plan what is needed for completion of a work order.
  • Utilize all auxiliary tools installed at the press for process control and traceability.
  • Communicate and share information about experiences and troubleshooting.
  • Perform corrective actions in a timely manner; any non-conform product must be identified and segregated.
  • Proactive assistance to improve process, methods, equipment, and materials.
  • Permanent control of the printing process.
  • Responsible for quality and productivity.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Direction Setting: Possesses organizational skills with the ability to exercise independent decision-making in a demanding environment as well as take direction from the Press Operator
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally within the work unit and shift. Ability to follow written and verbal directions on tasks.
  • Execution: Ability to focus on goals, metrics, and results. Self-started who takes ownership and accountability for self and department. Uses resources efficiently, effectively, and timely
