Job summary

Fogo de Chão, renowned for its Brazilian churrasco, seeks Gaucho Chef to cook and portion beef and other meats to guests’ specifications. You will showcase Gaucho-style service, maintain grill cleanliness, and perform opening/closing duties while engaging with guests to convey our culture.

Ideal candidates are comfortable standing for long periods, working weekends/holidays, and delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing and grilling beef and other meats in churrasco style.
• Ability to answer guests’ questions about churrasco cuisine and culture.
• Must be able to stand long periods and work at a fast pace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook special cuts of beef and other meats per traditional churrasco recipes.
• Season and grill foods according to traditional methods and guest requests.
• Portion, garnish and present finished dishes in a Gaucho-style presentation.
• Maintain grill area cleanliness and perform opening/closing duties.
• Assist guests and represent Brazilian gaucho culture and demeanor.

Now Hiring / Immediately Hiring: Gaucho Chef Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Prepare and cook special cuts of beef and other meats according to traditional Brazilian “churrasco” recipes. Season and grill food according to prescribed traditional method and to guests’ specific requests. Portion, garnish and present to patron in style of Brazilian “gaucho.” Answer guests’ questions concerning “churrasco”-style food and represent and convey Brazilian “gaucho” culture and demeanor. Maintain cleanliness of the grill area. Complete any beginning or closing shift duties.

Requirements: Must be able to transport objects up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, and work at a quick pace. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance are available for full-time, hourly Team Members on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
