Job summary

Chase Oaks Church in Plano, TX is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to administer payroll and employee benefits for Chase Oaks Church and Center for Church Renewal (CCR). This role serves as the primary specialist for payroll processing, benefits administration, payroll tax compliance, HRIS maintenance, and employee benefit support, reporting to the HR Director.

Qualifications

• Three years of payroll administration experience required.
• Experience with Paycom payroll administration strongly preferred.
• Experience with church payroll, clergy compensation, and housing allowances preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and input payroll data and process employee changes for Chase Oaks Church and CCR.
• Maintain payroll system setup and tax reporting changes, including pastors and clergy as required by IRS regulations.
• Process semi-monthly payroll and review payroll reports for accuracy; prepare manual checks and corrections as needed.
• Manage wage garnishments, Form 941 filings, and year-end W-2/W-3 reporting; stay compliant with federal regulations.
• Fund payroll accounts, provide payroll-related reporting, post payroll entries, and reconcile benefits accrual accounts monthly.
• Update HSA systems with changes, maintain semi-monthly HSA deposits, and process quarterly employer contributions.
• Input and verify annual salary, housing allowance, and benefit information during compensation cycles.
• Serve as main contact for payroll and benefit inquiries; coordinate with vendors and third-party administrators.
