Job summary

Andritz Inc. in Chesterton, IN is looking for a Plater Operator to support chrome plating operations under the Plating Supervisor. The role requires preparing rolls, setting controls, inspecting surfaces, and maintaining safety and documentation.

You will assist with training and exhibit a strong attention to detail, with overtime hours as needed and crane safety and ISO training preferred to ensure quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Crane Safety training, Hazardous Communication training, and ISO Quality System training preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow work instructions accurately and quickly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rolls for chrome plating.
• Set plating controls and monitor plating tank temperature and solution levels.
• Inspect rolls for defects before and after plating.
• Perform testing for surface texture and chrome thickness on rolls.
• Fill out paperwork completely.
• Perform crane inspection.
• Maintain housekeeping of area.
• Able to work overtime when required.
