Chrome Line Specialist (1st Shift)

Chrome Line Specialist (1st Shift) combines expertise in chrome plating processes with operational and quality control responsibilities on the production line. This position ensures that metal components are properly prepared, plated, and inspected to meet specifications, while maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards.

Role Overview

The Chrome Line Specialist operates and maintains chrome plating equipment, prepares and inspects parts, and ensures adherence to technical drawings, safety protocols, and quality requirements. They work closely with production teams, supervisors, and quality control to maintain high output and defect-free finishes

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Clean, polish, and buff parts before plating to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
  • Plating Operations: Operate and maintain chrome plating tanks, mix and prepare plating solutions, and apply chrome using immersion, electroplating, or spray methods .
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for defects, measure plating thickness, and make adjustments as needed
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on plating equipment and tanks to ensure consistent performance
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures for handling hazardous chemicals and operating machinery
  • Documentation: Record plating processes, results, and any defects for traceability and quality audits
  • Team Support: Assist in loading/unloading parts, racking, packing, and labeling finished products
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with senior platers to refine techniques and improve efficiency
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: At least one year in chrome plating or related metal finishing roles
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of chrome plating, anodizing, polishing, and plating thickness measurement
  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate and maintain plating equipment and tanks
  • Safety Awareness: Proficiency in handling hazardous materials and following safety guidelines
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and precision in workmanship .
  • Physical Ability: Capacity to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in noisy, potentially hazardous environments.
