Job description

Restored Life Counseling is hiring an Arizona-licensed clinician qualified to provide clinical supervision (LPC, LMFT or LCSW) to do three things: carry a clinical caseload, supervise our pre-licensure clinicians, and build a service line around your own clinical depth.

You would be the second clinical supervisor in the practice. Today supervision depends on one person. That is the problem you are being hired to solve, and it means your supervisory judgment will be relied on rather than second-guessed.

All three licenses are welcome. An LMFT can be assigned anywhere on our supervision roster, and that flexibility weighs in an LMFT candidate's favor.

ABOUT RESTORED LIFE COUNSELING

We provide affordable, quality, distinctively Christian mental health care to the Phoenix metro, and each of those three words costs something. Affordable: we take insurance and keep a sliding-scale and scholarship lane, so that cost is not the reason someone goes without care. Quality: we measure outcomes rather than assume them, supervision here is real supervision, documentation is written to a standard that survives review, and we pursue specialty certification from the bodies that set the standard in their fields (IITAP, EMDRIA, ICEEFT). Distinctively Christian: not a label applied to otherwise ordinary care, but a clinical model that proceeds from a Christian understanding of what a person is, what has gone wrong, and what healing means.

Our faith is the fuel for our service, not a prerequisite for anyone's care. We serve every client, inside the faith and outside it, with the same excellence and the same respect.

Alongside the clinical work we are building research, professional training, and publishing for ordinary people, because affordable care that rests on goodwill lasts only as long as the donations do. Most of that is not built yet: today this is a clinical job, and your pay is what the compensation section describes and nothing else.

THIS IS A ROLE FOR A CHRISTIAN CLINICIAN

You must be able to affirm and work within our statement of faith. That is a requirement of this position, not a preference, and it carries through to the annual references described under ANNUAL STANDING below. Please read that section before you apply.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Clinical work
  • - Carry a caseload of individual, couples and family clients, in person and by telehealth.
  • - Complete documentation within the practice's timeliness standard, and participate in case consultation.
Clinical supervision
  • - Provide clinical supervision to our pre-licensure clinicians (graduate interns, LACs, LMSWs and LAMFTs), up to ten supervisees.
  • - Deliver and document supervision to the standard the Arizona Board requires, in a form that will survive review, and keep your own supervisor qualification current without a lapse.
  • - Review and co-sign supervisee documentation.
  • - Carry directive clinical authority over the cases you supervise. When you say a case needs to change direction, be transferred, or be escalated, that is a decision, not a suggestion.
The service line you build
  • - Build a clinical service line around your own depth: intake and screening approach, clinical pathway, outcome expectations, and the supervision standard for other clinicians taking that work.
  • - Couples and family work is the line we most want built, and an LMFT candidate should expect it. If your depth is elsewhere - trauma, addiction, adolescents, grief - tell us, and we will build that line instead.
HOW THIS ROLE BEGINS

You will not inherit a caseload and a supervision load on day one. We build both with you: your own caseload from our referral flow and your own network, your supervision load as we add pre-licensure clinicians. Hours grow as both grow. Full-time here means a full schedule, not a guaranteed 40 hours a week, and you are paid for every hour you actually work. Supervision time is scheduled and protected. The practice uses TherapyNotes.

WHAT A FULL WORKLOAD MEANS

We define workload by clinical output, not by hours in a chair. A full workload is either of the following, or any proportional blend of the two:

  • - a caseload of 20 sessions per week of your own clinical work; or
  • - 10 supervisees (interns, associates, or a mix), each carrying a caseload of 15 or more sessions per week.

One supervisee at a full caseload counts the same as two of your own sessions.

COMPENSATION
  • - $38.00 per hour, W-2, paid every two weeks, non-exempt, for every hour you work, supervision and documentation time included. Supervision is paid work here, not an expectation layered on top of a full caseload. Overtime at time and a half over 40 hours in a week.
  • - A production bonus on what is actually collected, not on what is billed: 60% of collections on your own sessions, and 10% of collections on the sessions of clinicians you supervise.
  • - Every two weeks we compare your year-to-date production against the wages paid to you year to date, and pay you any amount by which production runs ahead. If wages run ahead, you keep the wages. The hourly pay is a floor, never a draw, and is never clawed back. You receive the calculation, with the underlying numbers, alongside each pay statement.
  • - Total compensation is capped at $120,000 per calendar year: cash plus the practice's cost of any payroll taxes, insurance and benefits paid on your behalf.
  • - There are no benefits: no health insurance, no retirement plan, no paid vacation. You receive what Arizona law provides - earned paid sick time, accrued at one hour for every 30 hours worked, and workers' compensation coverage.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • - Current, active and unrestricted Arizona licensure as an LPC, LMFT or LCSW, issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Clinicians eligible for Arizona licensure by universal recognition or endorsement may apply, but licensure must be in hand before supervision begins.
  • - Qualified to provide clinical supervision under the Arizona Board's clinical supervisor rules. If you are not yet qualified but can be before your first supervisee is assigned, say so in your application; it is not disqualifying.
  • - At least two years of post-licensure clinical practice.
  • - Demonstrated depth in a definable clinical specialty. For an LMFT that means couples and family work specifically, not only individual therapy with relational content.
  • - Able to work in person in the Glendale / North Phoenix area. Telehealth is part of the practice; this is not a fully remote position.
  • - Able to affirm and work within the practice's Christian statement of faith.
PREFERRED
  • - Certification in a modality we can build a specialty around - Certified EFT Therapist (ICEEFT), Certified EMDR Therapist (EMDRIA), or Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (IITAP) - with the willingness to consult to other clinicians in that specialty.
  • - Experience supervising across disciplines: counselor-track and social-work-track as well as marriage and family track.
  • - Experience building or leading a service line, a training program, or a supervision program, and experience in a nonprofit or insurance-based practice.
ANNUAL STANDING

These are continuing conditions of the role, not a one-time hiring screen. Each is refreshed annually for as long as you hold the position.

  • - Listing on the Arizona Board's Clinical Supervisor Registry, maintained in active status, so that a supervisee and their future licensure application can verify you without having to ask you.
  • - An annual pastoral reference, from a pastor, elder, or spiritual leader who knows you well enough to speak to your character rather than your resume.
  • - An annual spousal or household reference. One who aspires to oversee others must first manage his or her own household well (1 Timothy 3:4-5), and the person you supervise is entrusting you with judgment about other people's families. If you are not married, name instead the person who knows your household life best and is willing to speak to it.
  • - Positive annual leadership reviews from the clinicians you supervise. Your supervisees are asked, every year, what your supervision is actually like.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

Restored Life Counseling is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal or Arizona law. As a religious nonprofit we do consider religion in hiring, as Section 702 of the Civil Rights Act permits. The statement of faith and the pastoral and household references described above are bona fide religious requirements of this role. We provide reasonable accommodation for applicants with disabilities on request.
