Job summary

City Union Mission in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to model Christ-centered hospitality and lead day-to-day center operations. You will support guests, maintain order, and contribute to recovery progress during assigned shifts.

The role requires genuine belief in Jesus Christ, church membership, and a commitment to serving the homeless with Biblical hospitality and accountability.

Qualifications

• Belief in Jesus Christ and ability to communicate Gospel when opportunities arise.
• Member in good standing of a Protestant, evangelical church.
• Commitment to serving the poor and homeless.

Responsibilities

• Lead guests in daily center routines and maintain order during shifts.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and shepherding to program participants.
• Record observations for center leadership to aid recovery planning.
• Conduct safety checks and monitor access points while showing hospitality.
• Supervise daily cleaning, linen, clothing, and supply systems.
