Job summary

The Music Academy of the West is seeking a Sing! Site Coordinator in Santa Barbara to implement the Sing! program, set up rehearsal spaces, track attendance, and liaise with parents and schools. This part-time, non-exempt role supports performance activities and fosters a positive learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for classical vocal music and experience teaching youth; a bachelor’s degree in music or related field is preferred, and Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a music education setting.
• Knowledge of classical vocal music.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or related field.
• Spanish proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down Sing! Program rehearsal spaces.
• Take attendance at every rehearsal and contact parents when absences occur.
• Provide behavior management during Sing! Program rehearsals and All-Choir rehearsals; provide musical guidance as appropriate.
• Plan and assist in the execution of various Sing! Program performance activities.
• Participate in program-wide problem-solving and decision-making.
• Other duties as assigned.
