Job summary

Westaff is hiring for Molding Machine Operators in Meriden, CT. The 1st shift runs Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $18–$22.50 per hour depending on experience. Responsibilities include operating molding machinery, completing documentation, packing, and weight recording.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and may involve heavy lifting and cleaning tasks. Experience in food production or manufacturing (GMPs preferred) and bilingual Spanish/English are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in food production or manufacturing (GMPs preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret production orders accurately.
• Knowledge of chocolate tempering is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate, and adjust molding machinery to ensure consistent product quality.
• Accurately complete required documentation, including chocolate type and product weight.
• Perform packing duties and label accurately; follow production orders.
• Record and total all cases/boxes produced during each shift.
• Use a pallet jack to transport materials and finished goods.
• Demold by safely removing molded chocolate pieces from molds.
• Communicate with maintenance staff and team members for smooth operations.
• Assist with machine and tank cleaning, including heavy lifting.
• Break down up to 5,000 lbs of chocolate per shift.
• Perform repetitive bending and lift up to 20 lbs overhead.
