Job description

Lead Safe, Reliable Chlorine Operations

At KIK Consumer Products, we make the cleaning and pool care brands families count on. Join a team that values accountability, collaboration, agility, and ethics as we manufacture for leading national and private-label brands across North America.

What a Day Looks Like

It’s 1:45 PM and you’re gearing up for a seamless handoff. By 2:00 PM, your crew is in PPE and at the rail spur. You verify chlorine connections, review permits, and walk the offloading line. As operations begin, you monitor transfer rates, confirm scrubber performance, and log readings. Mid-shift, you coordinate preventive maintenance on valves and review inspection checklists. A leak alarm drill? You lead the response, execute protocols, and debrief to drive continuous improvement. Throughout the evening, you coach operators, align with Production, Maintenance, EHS, and Logistics, and keep tanks, transfers, and inventory moving safely and efficiently.

Schedule and Compensation
  • Regular hours: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM; overtime as business needs require.
  • Training: New hires train on first shift (Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM) for approximately 2–3 months, then transition to the role’s regular hours.
  • Pay: $29.72 per hour, plus a $0.10/hour differential for all hours worked on second shift.
  • This role is represented by Teamsters Local 986.
  • Total compensation may vary based on experience, skills, time in role, business line, and location.
What You’ll Lead and Do
  • Direct and perform safe offloading of chlorine from railcars, tankers, or other delivery systems, following all procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, PSM, and RMP requirements; enforce PPE and safety standards.
  • Oversee storage, transfers, and inventory for chlorine and related chemicals to support uninterrupted production.
  • Serve as first responder for chlorine-related incidents, executing emergency, leak response, and evacuation procedures.
  • Coordinate inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs for tanks, piping, valves, scrubbers, and monitoring systems.
  • Track and reconcile chlorine inventories; complete logs, manifests, inspections, and compliance documents accurately.
  • Provide daily direction, on-the-job training, and coaching; reinforce a strong safety culture and qualification standards.
  • Work hands‑on alongside operators on batching, transfers, and daily tank farm tasks while leading the shift.
  • Identify and implement improvements that boost safety, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, EHS, and Logistics to set priorities and maintain flow.
  • Supervise contractors in the tank farm and ensure adherence to site safety requirements.
What You’ll Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.
  • 3+ years in chemical manufacturing, tank farm operations, or hazardous material handling.
  • Direct experience with chlorine or similarly hazardous chemicals strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency operating a sit‑down forklift to move chemical drums.
  • Ability to lift up to 90 lbs with a team lift, including heavy chlorine valves.
  • Working knowledge of PSM and RMP.
  • Familiarity with railcar and tanker offloading systems.
  • Deep understanding of safety protocols, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
  • Comfort in a high-hazard, fast‑paced setting with excellent attention to detail.
