Job summary

BioLab Westlake, a facility operated by KIK Consumer Products, seeks a on-site supervisor to lead 12-15 production operators across wet and dry processing. You will guide safety, quality, and productivity, and report performance to plant leadership in a fast-paced, unionized environment.

The role requires 2+ years of supervisory experience, Lean/continuous improvement know-how, and strong communication skills. Expect a 12-hour rotating schedule with day-one training and ongoing shift leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in manufacturing or industrial operations (chemical manufacturing preferred).
• Experience in a union environment preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, drive accountability, and hit safety and production targets in a fast-paced operation.
• Safety-first mindset; experience mentoring and developing employees.

Responsibilities

• Direct and support 12-15 production operators to meet plan safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
• Drive shift execution: spot abnormal conditions, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to stabilize performance.
• Conduct the 12-hour production meeting; communicate performance, issues, and priorities to plant leadership.
• Set expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping; hold the team accountable.
• Coordinate priorities, staffing, and performance trends daily with the Production Manager.
• Open maintenance notifications in SAP, participate in Management of Change (MOC), and support incident investigations.
• Ensure precise timekeeping and production reporting (downtime, efficiencies, counts) per SOPs.
• Track efficiencies, rework, and unfavorable trends; lead continuous improvement actions.
• Oversee training, coaching, discipline, and development in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Champion a strong safety culture with strict EHS, GMP, and housekeeping compliance.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Safety to deliver site goals.

Make Every Shift Matter at BioLab (Westlake, LA)

Picture your day starting with a focused handoff, stepping onto the production floor at our BioLab facility in Westlake, Louisiana. You guide a crew of 12-15 skilled union operators across wet and dry processing areas, keeping people safe, lines running, and quality on-spec. Twelve hours later, you close the loop with a crisp production meeting and pass a stable operation to the next team. That steady, disciplined rhythm is how you'll help KIK Consumer Products deliver trusted pool and home-care brands at scale.

Schedule & Onboarding

• Rotating DuPont-style schedule with 12-hour day and night shifts (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM / 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
• Built-in days off with alternating weeks of approximately 36 and 48 hours.
• Begin with 1-2 months of Monday-Friday day-shift training before entering the rotation.
• Acts as the senior on-site leader during nights and weekends.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Experience in a union environment preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, drive accountability, and hit safety and production targets in a fast-paced operation.
• Working knowledge of Lean/continuous improvement and structured problem solving.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Smartsheet; SAP preferred; aptitude to learn plant systems. Timekeeping/recordkeeping experience is a plus.
• Strong communicator who influences across teams and leadership levels.
• Safety-first mindset; experience mentoring and developing employees.
• Comfort operating in a 24/7 environment with urgency and adaptability.
• Ability to wear respiratory protection (including SCBA) during emergencies.
• Ability to climb stairs up to approximately 80 feet.
• Ability to pass required physical and drug testing.
