GENERAL PURPOSE:Chiropractic Assistants are multi-skilled practitioners who provide support services to the Chiropractors as part of a care team.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Calls and escorts patients to exam area in a timely manner in order to promote continual flow of patientsObtain BP utilizing electronic devices, height and weight (when necessary). Documents results in the electronic health record (EHR) per policy and procedureObtains HPI information for the ChiropractorAssists the Chiropractor with exam procedures including orthro/neuro and data entry when neededAssist the Chiropractor with instruments such as treatment, including hot/cold packs, thumper, exercise explanations, bio freeze application, and educational materialsAssists with call backs and follow-up calls to patients at provider requestUpdates white board with accurate wait timesObtains patient wait list logs and calls potential patients to fill the schedulePrepares and stocks exam roomsAssists with patient referrals to Ortho as neededMaintains professional growth by attending all meetings and in-service trainingsTreats all patients, staff, community and all other customers with respect and courtesyUtilizes effective means to resolve conflictOther duties as assigned by SupervisorQUALITIES &CHARACTERISTICSMaintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers, the public, patients and all Ampla Health’s staff, Board of Directors and vendorsMaintains the highest professional ethics and is honest in dealing with people; is a model for all employees through his/her actionsStrives to learn more and is receptive to new challenges and opportunitiesDisplays enthusiasm toward the work and the mission of Ampla HealthPROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABLITIESOne (1) year Chiropractic Assistant experience preferredCompletion of Medical Assistant (MA) training programCurrent CPR requiredMust be proficient in scheduling follow-up visits and re-scheduling patientsAbility to uses discretion in situations dealing with confidential patient health informationEffective time management skillsCOMMUNICATIONS SKILLSMust have neat and legible handwritingMust be able to interact with patients courteously and calmlyMust have strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate well with co-workers, patients and the publicWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWork well with patients in a generally comfortable office environment.
