Job summary

Ampla Health in Chico, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and keep a smooth patient flow. You will obtain vital signs, escort patients, prepare exam rooms, collect specimens, and document in the Electronic Health Record per policy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant Training Program.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Effective communication skills and neat, legible handwriting.
  • Able to interact courteously with patients and staff.
  • Familiarity with primary care outpatient clinic procedures (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Assists patients calling and visiting the clinic.
  • Calls and escorts patients to exam area to promote flow.
  • Obtains vital signs and documents in EHR per policy.
  • Makes referral appointments and maintains referral in i2i log.
  • Collects and processes laboratory specimens per policy.
  • Assists with immunizations and injections per protocol.
  • Maintains EHR worklists and clinic tracking.
  • Initiates Care Plans and updates in EHR per PCMH.
  • Maintains infection control per policy and procedure.
  • Prepares and stocks exam rooms; cleans and autoclaves instruments.
  • Participates in CQI activities and staff meetings.
