Job summary

Westminster Theological Seminary in Buffalo, NY seeks a full-time staff pastoral position to serve with our Senior Pastor, focused on the Mandarin-speaking congregation, students and young professionals and families.

The role includes preaching, pastoral care, leading Chinese ministries, attending staff and council meetings, and supporting ordination-path candidates as they pursue ordination.

• Path toward ordination for candidates not yet ordained.

Responsibilities

• Serve alongside the Senior Pastor, ministering to the Mandarin-Chinese speaking congregation.
• Expository preaching in the Mandarin-Chinese worship service.
• Conduct prayer meetings.
• Participate in pastoral staff meetings and church council meetings.
• Lead various Chinese-speaking ministries.
• Support member care, discipleship, evangelism, and church events with the staff team.
• Fulfill other ministry responsibilities as needs arise.

Job description

We are seeking a full-time staff pastoral position to work primarily alongside our Senior Pastor to serve the Mandarin-speaking congregation and especially focused on our students and young professionals and families within the Mandarin-speaking congregation. This includes attending pastoral staff meetings, church council meetings, pastoral care, preaching for the Mandarin-speaking worship service, leading various adult and youth ministries, and assisting in other areas of the church when called upon and if able. For those applicants not yet ordained, the expectation is that this position would be a path towards ordination.

Responsibilities

1. This is a full-time pastoral position to serve alongside our Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor, ministering primarily to the Mandarin-Chinese speaking congregation of our church
2. Expository preaching primarily in the Mandarin-Chinese speaking worship service
3. Conduct prayer meetings
4. Participation in ministry and leadership meetings including pastoral staff meetings
5. Leading various Chinese speaking ministries
6. Participate with the staff pastoral team for member care, discipleship, evangelism, and church events.
7. Fulfill other responsibilities as ministry needs arise
