Job summary

Reviver Global is seeking a Chinese Consecutive Interpreter (Inexperienced) for remote, independent contractor work. You will provide consecutive interpretation during phone calls, meetings, and interviews, ensuring accurate messaging and confidentiality.

A strong Mandarin-English proficiency is required, with HSK 5/6 for non-native speakers and ILR-based English proficiency; a Mock Call and English background check are also required.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English required.
• Non-native Mandarin speakers must possess HSK Level 5 or 6.
• English proficiency with a Technical Proficiency ILR rating or equivalent.
• Completion of a Mock Call assessment with a passing score.
• Criminal background check in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation services during calls, meetings, conferences, interviews, and more.
• Listen carefully to the speaker in the source language and convey the message accurately in the target language.

Reviver Global’s Consecutive OPI - VRI Interpreter plays a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between individuals who speak different languages. Consecutive interpreters work by listening to a speaker in one language and then rendering their speech into another language after a brief pause.

As a consecutive interpreter, you will bridge language gaps, ensuring clarity and understanding in various over-the-phone situations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide consecutive interpretation services during phone calls, meetings, conferences, interviews, and more.
• Listen carefully to the speaker in the source language and convey the message accurately in the target language.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity throughout the interpretation process.
• Respect HIPAA requirements and comply with Reviver Global policies and industry best practices as required by Reviver Global.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• For non-native Mandarin speakers: HSK Level 5 or 6 certification is required.
• Proof of English language proficiency with a “Technical Proficiency” rating under the national ILR scale or equivalent.
• Completion of a Mock Call assessment with a passing score.
• Criminal background check in English.
• Technical infrastructure to support interpretation assignments, including a headset, stable internet connection, and laptop.
