Job summary

Ascensus Global, Inc. seeks contract language instructors specializing in Chinese to educate adult learners and support intelligence-related material analysis.

The role involves teaching approximately 20 hours per week and developing tests and materials under senior guidance. Qualified candidates have a BA in Education or Language, ILR level 4+ in speaking/listening/reading, and at least five years of relevant instructional and testing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts degree in Education or Language preferred.
• Ability to score ILR Level 4 or higher in Speaking/Listening/Reading.
• Ability to score ILR Level 4+ or higher on a translation assessment.
• Minimum five (5) years of professional experience providing language instruction to adult students.
• Minimum five (5) years of professional experience performing language testing for adult students.
• Knowledge of history, culture, politics, and economy of the area; familiarity with language learning tech and teaching methods.
• Experience in content management, editing, quality control, writing reports, course design, summarizing/gisting.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Government and contractor personnel in a high-profile environment.
• Work under direction of senior trained instructors.
• Spend about 40 hours per week: ~20 hours teaching, ~20 hours on lesson development, assessment and testing.
