We've grown nearly 100 years old now, and command a premiere position among Japanese foodservice suppliers, as well as fill a key role as "Culinary Ambassador" promoting Japanese foods worldwide. Currently, we import, manufacture, and distribute over 8,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.

We are looking for an experienced and energized sales associate to join our coming soon branch in Des Moines, WA. In this role, you will be sharing Japanese culinary culture and promoting premium Japanese food products to the foodservice providers within WA and surrounding states. Location: Des Moines, WA

Hours: M-F: 8AM – 5PM

Essential Job Functions

• Meet the monthly and annual sales quota as designated by the manager.
• Visit existing and potential customers to provide support, information, and sell Company’s products.
• Cooperate with accounting department to assure the collection of payment in a timely manner.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and building rapport; resolve issues in a timely manner and escalate to the management as needed.
• Collaborate with purchasing department, warehouse, and other involved parties to confirm that orders are processed with accuracy and efficiency and that products are distributed properly.
• Coordinate urgent deliveries with the customer to accommodate their needs.
• Travel to other locations to meet with clients as needed.
• Educate customers on how the products or services can benefit them.
• Input and update orders within the Company database in a timely manner.
• Maintain and safely operate the Company vehicle as per the Company Vehicle Policy.
• Participate in the weekly sales meetings.
• Attend semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend.
• Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Obligation to answer to all management as requested.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Able to drive for a majority of the daily working hours.
• Able to sit in a car for extended periods.
• Able to travel within or outside of Washington as needed.
• Able to talk, hear, walk, stand, smell, taste, reach, bend, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to use the phone for extended periods of time.
• Working Conditions:
• Noise Level: Normal to loud.
• Location: Indoor in the office and at least 50% of the time in the field visiting customers, restaurants, wholesalers, distributors, etc.
  

Other Requirements

• Business level English and Chinese bilingual is required.
• Business level Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, or other Asian language is considered.
• Has a valid driver license and a clean driving record.
• Able to stay overnight out of town for client visits, as required.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Able to work independently and as a team.
• Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.
• High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree and above strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in food industry, preferably in Japanese food industry is highly preferred.
  
  

Knowledge And Skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Possess basic mathematical knowledge such as markups, discounts, counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.

Strong customer service, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.

Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central, SAP or other ERP systems.

Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors strongly preferred.
