Job summary

Institute for the Study of War (ISW) invites motivated students or recent graduates to join the China & Taiwan Intelligence Analysis Internship. Interns will learn open‑source collection and analysis, work under ISW researchers, and contribute to long‑term projects in a fast-paced environment.

Internships are available in in-person, remote, and hybrid formats, with a scholarship program offering up to a $1,000 monthly stipend and options for academic credit where applicable.

Qualifications

• Motivated and organized college students or recent graduates.
• Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
• Mandarin language capabilities preferred; other regional languages a plus.
• Ability to conduct complex tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Self-motivated, independent, creative, and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to ISW's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily collection and analysis of open-source information in native language sources for the China & Taiwan portfolio.
• Collaborate with the research team to generate intelligence products and assist with editing, documenting, and compiling materials for publications.
• Support planning, preparation, and execution of public events and private briefings.
• Assist in gaining academic credit for internships where applicable.
