Job summary

Institute for the Study of War (ISW) offers Fall 2026 internships with in-person, remote, and hybrid options. Interns will conduct open-source analysis, support multiple portfolios, and assist with publications and briefings. Positions run Sept 8 to Dec 11, 2026, with CPT where applicable and rolling reviews through July 24, 2026.

Scholars may receive up to a $1,000 monthly living stipend. Candidates upload resume, cover letter, and writing sample; internships can provide academic credit where

Qualifications

• Motivated and organized college students or recent graduates with demonstrated expertise in a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
• Strong language capabilities in Russian; Ukrainian language capabilities are a plus.
• Self-motivated, independent, creative, and capable of working in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to and interest in the core mission and values of ISW.
• Ability to conduct complex tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily collection and analysis of open-source information.
• Collaborate with the research team to generate the portfolio’s intelligence products and support events.
• Edit, document, and compile materials for publications.
• Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of public events and private briefings.
