Job summary

AMPP seeks a seasoned Manager, China Area to translate global strategy into local growth plans for Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, while building high-level stakeholder relationships and expanding AMPP’s presence.

You will lead market development, government engagement, standards advancement, education and certification growth, and regional operations, ensuring compliance and delivering measurable outcomes through partners, chapters, and a growing workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• At least 10 years in area management or related leadership roles.
• Experience with government/industry relations in China highly desirable.
• Knowledge of corrosion, coatings, or materials protection beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual China Area strategy, business plan, growth targets, and operating roadmap.
• Identify and pursue market opportunities in priority sectors to expand reach and revenue.
• Build executive-level relationships with government agencies, regulators, SOEs, corporations, associations, academia, and members.
• Lead partnerships and joint initiatives to advance AMPP’s mission and create sustainable growth.
• Oversee training/certification partners and ensure compliance and quality.
